On Sunday, that meant freaking out that Christian Laettner was included on the United States 1992 men's Olympic basketball team, better known as the Dream Team. The roster included 11 future Hall of Famers, including iconic figures in the sport in Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird and Patrick Ewing, among others. Laettner is the only member who has not been inducted into the Hall of Fame. https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/1256993247966179330 The U.S. basketball committee decided to include one collegiate player on the team as an acknowledgement to the previous amateur system, and the choice came down to Laettner vs. Shaquille O'Neal (who was still playing for LSU at the time). Even though Shaq was the No. 1 player in the NBA Draft in '92 (while Laettner was No. 3), the committee ultimately decided to include the Blue Devil over the Tiger based on Laettner's collegiate accomplishments. In addition to Shaq, Isiah Thomas was also left off of the team. Some twitter users were not happy about it, and  Laettner started trending on Twitter as the debate continued. https://twitter.com/BSPN_NewOrleans/status/1257004539238023175 https://twitter.com/pboeckner/status/1257017062758776832 https://twitter.com/BSO/status/1255536313140379655 When the latest installments of The Last Dance hit the screen beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, expect to see this debate continue heating up across the internet. I think I know which side the BBN will take...
