Anything that could have gone wrong has gone wrong for Kentucky in the first half against Oakland, starting with Jack Gohlke ruining all of the fun. He’s gone nuclear with 21 points on 7-13 shooting from three, setting the record for most 3-pointers in a tournament game against the Cats, all in 16 minutes.

Beyond that, it’s been not a whole lot of anything for the Golden Grizzlies, no one has scored more than four with seven combined made field goals elsewhere.

On Kentucky’s side, Antonio Reeves leads the way with 14 points on 6-9 shooting, followed by eight points for Tre Mitchell and seven for Rob Dillingham. Zvonimir Ivisic has added three, followed by Adou Thiero with two and Aaron Bradshaw with one. Reed Sheppard, DJ Wagner and Justin Edwards have gone scoreless to open the game, Sheppard taking just one shot in 13 minutes of play.

As a team, the Cats are shooting must 40.7% from the field and 27.3% from three despite going 10-14 at the free-throw line early.

Gotta start out fast or these final 20 minutes could be uncomfortable.
