The Kentucky section of the old Memorial Coliseum floor is up for bid
Does your man cave need a next-level upgrade? You can now own a section of the old Memorial Coliseum floor that says “Kentucky” if the price is right. The University of Kentucky is auctioning off portions of the historic hardwood through Govdeals.com, an eBay-style site branded as a liquidity services marketplace. There have been a few other sections of the floor on sale over the last couple of months but now a section emblazed with the word “Kentucky” is on the block.
According to the item’s description:
This lot contains one of the “Kentucky ” Sections from The University of Kentucky Memorial Coliseum Flooring. Appx dimensions of each piece (total of 4 pieces) range between 80″ – 90″ W x 8’Tall x1 1/2″ Thick. Each piece weighs approximately 300 lbs.
If you are slow at math, all four sections add up to roughly 8 feet by 28 feet and 1,200 pounds, so plan accordingly. The website makes clear that the winning bidder has to figure out how to get it back to their house, as they offer no shipping or delivery services.
As of the time of this writing, the winning bid sits at $1,525 but considering the auction does not end until January 31st, that number will likely shoot up a few more bucks.

Kentucky has done similar things in the past with Memorial Coliseum memorabilia, selling off portions of the original seats a few years ago. With Memorial’s renovation complete, the hardwood floor is up next.
What do you think, Big Blue Nation? How much would you pay for this and more importantly, where would you put it?
