The Message BBN Needs to Hear before Kentucky vs. Tennessee
Big Blue Nation is down, down real bad. Kentucky has lost three straight games as a favorite. Now they’re dealing with a ton of injuries as a 17.5-point underdog at Tennessee. It’s hard to find belief, but I know someone who can.
“When you come together, nobody can stop you.”
Those were the words John Schlarman shared in a victorious locker room at Neyland Stadium in 2020. It was the Wildcats’ first win at Tennessee since 1984 and the longtime offensive line coach’s last game on the Kentucky sideline.
Before the team took the field, Mark Stoops leaned on Schlarman to deliver the inspirational message the team needed to hear. It’s one that will still give you cold chills.

It’s difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but there is a path to victory for Kentucky at Tennessee. It’s the same one they took at Ole Miss. Even though it will be a challenge to follow in a raucous, blacked-out stadium, maybe Kentucky can shock the world Saturday night at Neyland Stadium.
