The Pitch Wan'Dale Robinson is Delivering to NFL Teams
The production speaks for itself, yet Wan’Dale Robinson must still be prepared to sell himself to NFL teams as the draft draws near. Next week he will be in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine. Prior to making the trip, he spoke with the Indianapolis Colts’ SI team site about his NFL Draft pitch.
Robinson transferred from Nebraska to Kentucky to prove that he is, in fact, a wide receiver. He split reps at receiver and running back in Lincoln. It initially hindered his growth, but now that extensive work in the backfield could bolster his resume.
“I think that is why an NFL team is going to like me,” Wan’Dale told Horseshoe Huddle. “There’s a lot of different things that I can do. Even if there is a package where we have four wideouts in, I can motion into the backfield. I’m another wideout, but I can also get in the backfield and play running back and things like that. Defenses have to be able to match-up with personnel, so I think a player like me can cause a lot of problems.”
It echoes a sentiment shared earlier in the draft season by ESPN’s Todd McShay, who compared him to the San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel. Even though he set single-season UK records in receiving yards (1,334) and receptions (104), Robinson’s versatility is what makes him stand out among a talented group of wide receivers.

“You are going to get one guy that is going to work hard,” said Robinson. “I’m tough, and you will never see me on the field pouting or anything like that. I’m always going to do what I have to do to help our team win. At the end of the day, football wise, I’m just going to make plays.”
Robinson is currently projected to be a day two pick. We are 64 days away from the start of the 2022 NFL Draft.
