The Ugliest Picture You Will See All Day

I’ve always maintained that summer is awesome for 3 reasons: Sunshine, No School, and Swimming Pools. However, Minor League Baseball is another source of summer entertainment that never disappoints. In order to drum up ticket sales to see such landmark franchises like the Savannah Sand Gnats (New York Mets-Single A) and the Breward County Manatees (Milwaukee Brewers-Upper Single A) perform, minor league franchises will resort to the most extreme gimmicks and promotions to entertain the tens of people in attendance. Sometimes the ideas fail miserably, sometimes they work to perfection, but 100% of the time they are bat-shit crazy and impossible to ignore.

Which brings us to the above photo of the Egypt-inspired uniforms that the Memphis Redbirds will don Saturday night in a promotion to honor the city of Memphis, Egypt which is located on the West bank of the Nile River, and is the natural midway point between Upper and Lower Egypt according to my exclusive totally not Wikipedia-related research.

Leave it to the Minor League affiliate of a team called the “Cardinals” to try and turn 31st Century BC attire into a retro uniform, all it’s missing is an Olde English “M”. Can the comment section provide any worse/uglier examples of Minor League promotion gone awry? Also, I’m setting the over/under on the number of times this song is played tonight in Memphis at 4, any takers?
