Some of you may have noticed your local neighborhood grocery is running low on Dr. Pepper lately. If so, it's not just a you and your local neighborhood grocery problem; it's a common problem for all lovers and suppliers of Dr. Pepper, the sugary soft drink with the 23 mystery flavors. (Spoiler: amaretto, almond, blackberry, black licorice, caramel, carrot, clove, cherry, cola, ginger, juniper, lemon, molasses, nutmeg, orange, prune, plum, pepper, root beer, rum, raspberry, tomato and vanilla.) Like many industries, the soft drink industry has been hit hard by COVID-19, and Dr. Pepper is among the wounded. Once fans began sharing stories of empty shelves in their areas, Dr. Pepper acknowledged a nationwide shortage in its supply: https://twitter.com/drpepper/status/1292898432131182592 So next time you make a Dr. Pepper run, grab an extra to be safe, but also be courteous to your fellow man. We all remember what happened to toilet paper back in March. Don't be that person who now needs to wipe 20 times a day for 500 years. Get your Dr. Pepper and leave behind enough to keep the supply chain moving until Dr. Pepper is back on its feet.
