There's a Hot Chicken Eating Contest before the Music City Bowl
There are plenty of fun events planned around the Music City Bowl, but by far the best will be the Hot Chicken Eating World Championships.
On Thursday, December 28 at 4 p.m., Kentucky and Northwestern fans are invited to put their taste buds to the test at the Hot Chicken Eating World Championships on Broadway. Participants will be challenged to eat Hattie B’s hottest hot chicken, the appropriately named “Shut the Cluck Up!”. If you finish yours first, you’ll not only get the World Hot Chicken Championship title, you’ll get $750, which is almost enough to pay for two nights at a hotel downtown. Second place gets $500 and third place $250.
The contest is part of the All Pro Eating circuit, and has picked up popularity among competitive eaters (yes, there is such a thing). Molly Schuyler holds the current hot chicken eating world record after downing 4.75 lbs. of hot chicken in eight minutes back in 2014.
