There's more evidence that Arkansas stinks at basketball
When College Gameday planned to take a road trip to Bud Walton Arena, I doubt they envisioned Arkansas would be only a game over .500 with one win in conference play.
There’s no other way to put it. The Razorbacks stink.
Last night Eric Musselman’s team provided further evidence that they are a bad basketball team. In a road trip to Ole Miss the Razorbacks were THROTTLED.
Arkansas led the basketball game for a total of zero minutes. The Rebels had a double-digit advantage for the entire second half and led by as much as 29, ultimately prevailing with a 77-51 victory. It was the program’s largest loss to Ole Miss since they were non-conference foes back in 1973.
“I actually thought we played fairly hard tonight,” Eric Musselman told Razorback Sports Network after the game. “We just got outplayed, outmanned 1 through 5. I think the effort was better than it has been, but Ole Miss took it to us in a lot of areas.”
Arkansas trailed by ten points three minutes into last night’s loss. That appears to be their new comfort zone. The Muss Bus has consistently played this season with a double-digit deficit. Arkansas is 1-5 in SEC play. All five defeats have been double-digit losses with an average margin of 20.6 points per loss.

That’s bad, no matter which way you spin it. They’re especially bad on defense, allowing 77.5 points per game, ranked No. 295 nationally. They have the No. 112 in KenPom’s adjusted defensive efficiency.
Are you thinking what I’m thinking? After Kentucky’s lowest-scoring performance of the season, Arkansas is an ideal opponent for the Cats’ offense to get right.
Yes, this is a road game. No, it’s not easy to win on the road in the SEC. Will this team be desperate? Probably, but desperation does not make a team better at basketball.
Kentucky has won four of their last five games at Bud Walton Arena. To stay near the top of the SEC standings, John Calipari’s squad must take care of business against one of the most disappointing teams in college basketball.
