There's now a 20-foot tall Eiffel Tower in Paris, Kentucky
Paris, Kentucky already shares a name with its French counterpart; now, it also has an Eiffel Tower. This afternoon, the Paris-Bourbon County Tourism Commission held a ribbon-cutting for the town’s new 20-foot tall replica of the Eiffel Tower, located at 8th and Main Street. Coincidentally, it’s next to the world’s tallest three-story building, The Shinner Building, home to Paradise Cafe.
The steel tower is an exact replica of the original in France, though the Paris, KY version added its own Bluegrass touch with horseshoes to pay homage to the area’s rich tradition of horse racing.
The addition was made in an effort to boost tourism in the area, specifically small businesses hit hard by the pandemic over the course of the last year.

“These small towns need money we’re doing everything to bring these tourists in here,” Mayor Plummer said, via WKYT.
The tourism commission in Bourbon County raised money to pay for the tower, with the total cost being $25,000.
