Three-foot caiman captured in Lexington creek

In a headline straight out of 2020, a three-foot caiman (close relative of an alligator) was captured in Lexington today. According to Lexington councilman Richard Moloney, the reptile was spotted in a stream off Roland Avenue near Eastland Parkway. Lexington Animal Care & Control captured it around 3:30 p.m.

As we always remind you when reports like this surface, it is illegal to own an alligator/caiman/crocodile in Kentucky. It is even worse to let them loose in the wild, where they surely would not survive for long due to the cold water.
