Tomiwa Durojaiye is a Kentucky Wildcat.

A 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive line prospect in the class of 2022, Durojaiye announced his commitment to Kentucky on Saturday, choosing the Wildcats over Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, among 22 total scholarship offers.

The Middletown High School (DE) standout took trips to all five finalists, though UK received his final visit to close out the month of July.

Durojaiye is listed as the No. 1071 overall recruit in the 2022 247Sports Composite Rankings, with Rivals having him ranked No. 46 overall among defensive ends. 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN all list the newest Wildcat as a three-star prospect.

He plans to enroll at Kentucky in January.

The standout defensive lineman previously told KSR he was looking for a program capable of taking his game to the “next level” and preparing him for the NFL.

“Player development in terms of a coach that is going to take my game to the next level, that’s going to make my strengths weapons and anything I’m weak at–before I leave that university I want to be great at it before I go to the next level,” Durojaiye told KSR. “Just taking my game to the next level. I would say the biggest thing for me is a staff that is going to help me separate myself from everybody else in the country because I know I’ll be willing to put in that work. Just having a staff that will care about me. Having an opportunity to show my versatility–the way the league (NFL) is played now everybody has to be versatile and play more than one position. So for me to show my arsenal is something I’m looking for.

“And then off the field, more so academic people and player development that won’t let me shorthand myself. I want everybody to be on me. At the same time, you gotta be responsible because you’re becoming a young man but a staff that’s going to help me become a greater man than I am and as a football player, and that’s something I’m looking at the most.”

Tomiwa Durojaiye joins a strong recruiting class in Lexington that includes Kiyaunta Goodwin, Keaten Wade, Grant Bingham, Destin Wade, Treyveon Longmire, Alex Afari, Andre Stewart, Jordan Anthony, Nikolas Hall, Josh Kattus and Jackson Smith.

The commitment moves Kentucky up to No. 35 in the latest 247Sports team recruiting rankings.
