It’s a relatively quiet time in the world of college football recruiting, which makes it the perfect time to update recruiting rankings. After a slew of Wildcats saw their stock fall in the On300, three future Cats also fell down the Rivals’ rankings.
Kiyaunta Goodwin was previously ranked No. 30 overall. Now the 6-foot-8 All-American is the No. 66 player in the 2022 recruiting class, dropping 36 spots as the fourth-ranked offensive tackle.
Barion Brown slipped out of the Top 100, sliding seven spots to No. 103 overall. Rivals has struggled to peg down the elusive wide receiver. Once ranked No. 173, he jumped up to No. 56 prior to committing to UK, then fell back down to No. 96 in December. Most of volatile movement occurred after his senior season concluded.

One more All-American made the cut for the Rivals250. Like the rest of the Wildcats, Keaten Wade slid down the list too. Previously ranked No. 193, he now comes in at No. 198 and the 18th-ranked outside linebacker.
Recruiting rankings are fluid, until one reaches the college football ranks. Kentucky’s mantra under Mark Stoops is recruit and develop. The former does not matter if a player and program cannot fulfill the latter. Regardless of where they fall in the pecking order, Kentucky will have its highest-ranked football recruiting class in school history on the heels of a 10-win season. Not too shabby.
