Tipoff times announced for Kentucky WBB's upcoming Bahamas trip

Kentucky basketball is going to be quite familiar with the Baha Mar Resort by the end of the year.
On Thursday afternoon, tipoff times for Kentucky women’s basketball’s upcoming trip to the Bahamas were announced. The Wildcats will take on two opponents over a three-day span in late November in what is being dubbed the Pink Flamingo Championship. First up is a matchup against Virginia Tech on Monday, Nov. 21 at noon p.m. EST before facing Dayton two days later on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. EST (the day before Thanksgiving).
This news comes a day after the SEC unveiled Kentucky’s conference schedule for the 2022-23 season. UK will head down to the same Baha Mar Resort that the men’s program played at earlier this month as part of its Big Blue Bahamas Tour.

Virginia Tech will easily be the toughest competition of the two opponents for Kentucky. The Hokies are likely to enter the season as a top 20 team in the country, led by reigning ACC Player of the Year Elizabeth Kitley. Dayton, on the other hand, is welcoming in first-year head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter, who took over a program that finished with a 26-6 record a season ago but saw previous head coach Shauna Green take the same job at Illinois.
With a few months remaining until the regular season begins, Kentucky’s complete schedule is slowly coming to fruition. As always, we can expect the ‘Cats to face the in-state rival Louisville Cardinals, which was a road game a season ago. In years past, UK has played that game inside of Rupp Arena instead of the usual Memorial Coliseum when it is held in Lexington, which could be the case this time around.
Otherwise, the rest of the nonconference slate is still a work in progress.
