To boo or not to boo? That is the question KSR has for Big Blue Nation

John Calipari has weighed in on it, Rick Pitino has shared his opinion and there have been anonymous polls — among countless other talking heads explaining why Big Blue Nation should or shouldn’t boo Coach Cal when he makes his return to Rupp Arena on Saturday.

What will actually happen, though, when Calipari walks through that door and his name is announced over the loudspeaker? KSR has spent the last several weeks gathering thoughts from BBN on what they will do and/or say when Kentucky takes on Arkansas at 9 PM ET tomorrow night.

The consensus? Prepare for boos.

“He’s getting booed.”

“Welcome back, we’re gonna kick your ass.”

“It’s not going to be pretty. There are going to be a lot of boos. Should is a whole different story — he gave us a lot of good years, but toward the end, it was time.”

“I think he deserves an ovation, but he’ll get booed out of the gym.”

“There might be more (boos) than Pitino got when he came back (in 2001).”

How about Arkansas fans? They feel they’re the step spouse in the middle of a custody battle between Coach Cal and the Kentucky Wildcats.

“They just don’t feel they’re a part of it,” John Nabors of Inside Arkansas told KSR. “They’re going into this game with no pressure, almost like bystanders sitting back going, ‘This is Cal vs. Kentucky.’ This isn’t Arkansas vs. Kentucky, it’s Cal vs. Kentucky. If Arkansas found a way to win, yeah, Razorback fans would celebrate — it’d be awesome, it’d be great. But it’d be more about Cal winning, not about, ‘Ooh, Arkansas got a big upset.'”

Would they boo in our shoes?

“I would boo him. If I was a Kentucky fan, I’d boo him tremendously. It’s a ‘you’re either with us or against us’ mentality,” Nabors added. “… You chose to do that and go to this place. You chose that. You knew what was coming.”
