Today on KSR: Cutter Boley makes his college decision
Good morning, folks! No need to bury the lede here. Today is all about four-star class of 2025 QB Cutter Boley, who will make his college decision this morning LIVE on KSR around 11:05 at Lexington Christian Academy. Matt Jones and the radio crew will host the announcement with several other KSR personnel in attendance to bring you immediate coverage. As you can imagine, having the ceremony on a Kentucky-centric radio show typically means good news should be on the way for the Big Blue Nation.
We shouldn’t have to stress long for good news — Kentucky is the overwhelming favorite to land Boley as we’re just a couple of hours away from a decision. The other “hats on the table” will be Florida State, Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee. None of this would have happened without offensive coordinator Liam Coen returning to Lexington. Let’s all send him a thank you note.
“I like that Liam (Coen) is coming back and how they had the offense going with him two years ago,” Boley recently told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Them being in-state, growing up in Kentucky, it would definitely be cool to play for Kentucky.”
Boley is considered the No. 39 overall recruit from the class of 2025 and the No. 3 ranked quarterback, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He has just one official visit locked in, which is to Kentucky the weekend of June 9-11. There is a very good chance he reclassifies to 2024, as well. The sooner Boley gets on board, the sooner he can turn around and help generate some recruiting momentum for the ‘Cats.
As a sophomore at LCA, Boley led that state in passing yards with 3,901, right at 300 yards per game. He completed 254 of 400 pass attempts (63.5%) and threw 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 13 contests. He’s the real deal.
KSR will also stream Boley’s announcement live on our YouTube page, which you can find through the link below.
Oscar Tshiebwe shines at Combine
Oscar Tshiebwe might not have shown NBA scouts anything new with his exceptional performance at the NBA Draft Combine on Wednesday, but there’s no denying he had a positive outing. To little surprise, Tshiebwe put on a rebounding clinic during the 5-on-5 portion of Wednesday’s Combine, dropping 10 points and 16 rebounds as a starter for Team Bailey.
After the game was over, Tshiebwe spoke with members of the media where he divulged that he’s already worked out for the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, and Sacramento Kings. More notably though, he also seems adamant he can make it as an NBA player.
“I believe there will be a team in the NBA that will love what I do,” Tshiebwe told reporters, according to Adam Zagoria of ZAGSBLOG.
Following Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, Tshiebwe still isn’t projected to hear his name called in either of the two rounds in June’s Draft. He has until May 31 to pull his name out of draft consideration. A team could possibly take a flier on him as an undrafted, two-way player, or even spend a late-second-round pick on him.
Shortly after Tshiebwe’s game wrapped up, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim and Go Big Blue Country’s Shawn Smith went live on Sources Say to break down everything you need to know about the Kentucky big man’s situation.

So far, Kentucky has taken down Presbyterian, Northwestern, and traditional powerhouse Stanford to make it this far in the tournament. The 2023 SEC Champions love to play with fire, posting an 11-1 record this season in matches decided by one point.
Joining UK and UVA in the Elite 8 are Texas, South Carolina, TCU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Georgia. All remaining matches in the tournament will be played at the USTA National Campus with the quarterfinals on Thursday, the semifinals on Friday, and the championship on Saturday. Friday’s semifinals and Saturday’s final will air live on Tennis Channel.
You can check out a full preview of today’s match from KSR intern Ian Alvano here. Live streaming will be available through PlaySight on the USTA National Campus website, as well as on the Cracked Racquets YouTube page with commentary.
Bat ‘Cats host final regular season series
No. 19 Kentucky baseball’s (35-15, 15-12) final series of the regular season begins a day earlier than normal this week as the Wildcats will play at home on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before looking ahead to the 2023 SEC Tournament. The opponent? The No. 4 ranked Florida Gators…
Kentucky is still in a good position to potentially host some postseason baseball in Lexington, but the ‘Cats need a good showing these next three days against the Gators. Winning one of three games is almost critical to making that happen. Winning two would almost assuredly have UK playing host at Kentucky Proud Park to start the NCAA Tournament.
“When you look at just about every team in our league, this weekend, we’re trying to get to that next level,” Head coach Nick Mingione said earlier this week. “Whether that’s make the tournament, whether that’s be a regional host, whether that’s be a national seed or the one seed, there’s always another level.”
Thursday’s series opener is set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. EST on the SEC Network+. Friday is also Senior Night. KSR intern Daniel Hager will have a full preview of what to expect coming in this series to the website this morning.
