Today on KSR: Switching back to basketball
If there was an award for Best Christmas Commercial, we’ve found the winner. Everyone else give up — especially you, Target commercial. That song’s been in my head since Thanksgiving and I’m thinking of boycotting.
Anyways, the greatest ad this holiday season is Macaulay Culkin’s remake of “Home Alone” for Google. Culkin, who looks far less creepy than he has in other recent projects, recreates key scenes from the 1990 classic with the help of his Google Assistant. If it hasn’t been shared a million times on your Facebook or Twitter feed, have a look:

That part where Caulkin jumps on the bed and hurts his back hits a little too close to home for this fellow 30-something.
Have you recovered from Signing Day yet? Me neither, really, but things are just going to get crazier today as we shift back into basketball mode and prepare for Saturday’s game vs. North Carolina.
John Calipari and players will talk Tar Heels
Later this morning, Cal and select players will preview the CBS Sports Classic showdown with North Carolina before taking off for Chicago. Check the site around 10:45 a.m. for a live stream, or a little later for a full recap.
We’ll bring you Roy Williams’ comments as well
Ole Roy will meet with the UNC media this afternoon to preview the game, fresh off signing a new contract extension through the 2028 season. If you’re curious, that will keep him in Chapel Hill until he’s 77. That’s a lot of Co’Colars.
Did you see the team spread Christmas cheer last night?
Last night, the team held their annual Christmas dinner for area families in need, which included gifts and some carols, led by “Keldon Claus”:

It was a really special day for us yesterday. We had the opportunity to serve Christmas dinner, give out gifts and make life a little bit easier this time of the year for some special families. We are truly blessed to be in the position we're in. pic.twitter.com/QtqasnGeQA

This is one of my favorite things the team does. Look how happy Nick Richards and this little girl are:
Sports on TV tonight
No. 12 Texas Tech takes on No. 2 Duke at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, which means we are all Red Raiders fans today. If you’d rather watch football, Marshall takes on South Florida in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Sounds like the perfect excuse to go to KSBar and enter the KSBar Hammer Bowl Challenge!
Top Chef: Kentucky is tonight
You can also flip over to Bravo at 9 p.m. to see the latest episode of Top Chef: Kentucky. Or, wait for my hilarious and amazing recap, which, if all goes well, will hit the site tomorrow.
Tom Hart can’t stop, won’t stop
KSR’s favorite announcer pulled out another reference to the show last night, dropping “Bam Bam Firepower” during the South Carolina/Virginia game:

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad
Finally, allow me to take up a little more space and wish my parents a happy 49th wedding anniversary. 2018 hasn’t been an easy year for my family, but we’re getting by thanks to their love and devotion for one another. I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that, but the strength of their marriage really is inspiring. If you’re reading this, mom and dad, I love you. See you soon.
