After spending one year at WKU, Smith transferred to Mississippi State and quickly became a valuable part of this basketball organization. As a redshirt senior this past season, Smith averaged 15.7 points and 8.5 rebounds while playing 27.7 minutes per game. The 6-11, 245-pound big shot 57.2 percent from the floor on 10 two-point field goal attempts per game while also lead the SEC in free throw rate. Smith was a consensus first-team All-SEC selection.
The Mississippi State big should get some preseason All-American buzz this offseason. As Kentucky looks for some more potential help in the transfer portal, Tolu Smith will not be an option.
