Kentucky DL transfer Tommy Ziesmer commits to EKU
Former Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown ended his transfer portal recruitment on Saturday with a commitment to LSU. The Bayou Bengals have added a high-level kickoff returner with explosive speed to Brian Kelly’s roster. But Brown was not the only former Wildcat to make a commitment this weekend.

Tommy Ziesmer (6-2, 282) was a Danville (Ky.) Boyle County product who signed with Kentucky in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Ziesmer joins Jakob Dixon as the second player in that class to transfer to EKU. The defensive lineman played in 26 defensive snaps over the last three seasons and has three years of eligibility remaining. Ziesmer was a former three-star recruit who recorded 83 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and nine sacks as a senior at Boyle County. The in-state product picked Kentucky over Cincinnati and West Virginia.
Only nine signees from Kentucky’s 2023 signing class remain on the roster.
