Tounde Yessoufou has been recruited by new Kentucky head coach Mark Pope for months now, but it wasn’t until he shined at Peach Jam that an offer from the Wildcats finally came through.

On Tuesday afternoon, Yessoufou announced through social media that he has received an offer from Pope to play at Kentucky. A 6-foot-5, 210-pound wing out of Santa Maria (CA) St. Joseph, Yessoufou is considered the No. 19 overall class of 2025 prospect by the On3 Industry Ranking.

“They just love the way that I play hard,” Yessoufou recently told KSR+. “I can do everything, defensively and offensively. They like that I play really hard and how tough I am with my mind. They really like that. They would love me, obviously, to be on their team.”

Even before earning an offer, Yessoufou was originally expected to take an official visit to Kentucky in early August. However, he told KSR+ at Peach Jam that the UK staff asked him to push it back so they could be his final official visit. He currently has one official scheduled to go to Baylor on August 31.

Throughout the spring and into the summer, Yessoufou has been one of the top players on the Nike EYBL circuit for Team WhyNot. Leading his team to a 3-2 record at Peach Jam, Yessoufou averaged 21.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.2 steals in 25.4 minutes per outing. He shot 42.9 percent overall, 38.9 percent from deep, and 70.6 percent from the free throw line during those five games.

Here is what KSR’s Brandon Ramsey had to say about Yessoufou’s game after watching him play at Peach Jam:

“The 2025 class is full of prospects with elite physical tools. However, there might not be a more impressive physical specimen than Tounde Yessoufou. He is explosively athletic, incredibly physical, and built more like an NFL player than an NBA player. Those physical tools are what catch your attention right away, but it is the consistent production and skill level that has really solidified him this summer as one of the best prospects in the class.”

So far, Yessoufou has taken two official visits to Southern California and Arizona. Along with Kentucky and Baylor, he also intends to OV at UConn, Tennessee, and Kansas. His current plan is to commit sometime in November.
