Top 200 CB Robert Stafford to Officially Visit Kentucky
Folks close to the University of Kentucky football program were awfully quiet in the month of May. The motive is now clear: Kentucky was big-game hunting. Entering the first significant visit weekend of the summer recruiting period, we now know another big-time target on the Wildcats’ Big Board, Robert Stafford.
The 5-foot-11 athlete is one of the 20 best cornerbacks in America. From Melbourne, Fl., Stafford is ranked No. 157 in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Stafford is the No. 86 prospect in the On300.
Earlier this week Stafford told 247 Sports’ Andrew Ivins he will be officially visiting Kentucky this weekend. Following his trip to Lexington, Stafford will officially visit Oregon, followed by a trip to Arkansas June 24. This spring he unofficially visited Georgia and Florida State. Kentucky is currently the second-choice for Stafford in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), just behind Arkansas.

An Under Armour All-American, Stafford is a two-way star for Eau Gallie. Last year he caught 42 passes for 605 yards and five touchdowns at wide receiver, while recording 17 tackles, five pass break-ups and an interception at cornerback. He’s also a standout on the Eau Gallie basketball team.
Cornerback is a priority position for Mark Stoops in the 2023 recruiting class after Kentucky dipped from first to eighth in the SEC in pass defense last fall. Instate star Cristian Conyer will take an official visit to Kentucky next weekend. The Cats also remain in the hunt for a pair of cornerback teammates in Cincinnati. Robert Stafford is just what Kentucky is looking for in the secondary.
