Transfer Portal Diaries Day 3: Riding the Wave and Hitting the Wall
The transfer portal is a chaotic time for college football fans. Allow KSR to deliver your daily morning dose of Kentucky football transfer portal news in the most ridiculous manner possible.
The First Wall of the Transfer Portal Window
Chaos can spark creativity. It can also bring your brain to the verge of implosion. I ran into that proverbial wall for the first time this transfer portal season. When your head is constantly on a swivel, sometimes you miss what’s right in front of your face. That’s when you step on the rake and it smacks you in the forehead.
Transfer portal news comes in waves. We rode the first wave of departures. There hasn’t been a steady wave of arrivals. Day three was a quest for just a small leak. There are some visitors incoming (more on that later) and a pretty big one in the trenches. Getting to the bottom of that in mid-juggle wasn’t fun, especially after my toddler asked for his third snack in an hour. Fortunately, there was some good news to share on KSBoard, but only after pushing through that first transfer portal wall.
This is a good opportunity to give a shout-out to Adam Luckett and Jacob Polacheck. They’re on it like Blue Bonnett, keeping up with all of the chaos so that we can synthesize it in one place right here.

More Offensive Transfer Portal Targets
To this point, most of the concrete news was coming from offers Brad White issued to the defensive side of the football. We got to learn a little more about who the offensive staff is looking at in the transfer portal.
Fluff Bothwell, RB, South Alabama — Kentucky officially entered the mix for Bothwell and began contact with the coveted player, which makes me think Kentucky truggled to gain traction with Ahmad Hardy. He has three years of eligbility remaining.
Horatio Fields, WR, Wake Forest — The 6-foot-3 pass-catcher caught 39 passes for 463 yards and four touchdowns last fall in Winston-Salem. He has two years of eligbility remaining and is currently en route to Lexington.

Nyziah Hunter, WR, Cal — The 6-foot-2 pass-catch reeled in 40 receptions for 578 yards and five touchdowns last fall. He has three years of eligbility remaining.
Wallace Unamba, OT, New Mexico — One of a handful of offensive tackle targets, Steve Wiltfong shared the New Mexico transfer will visit Kentucky on Monday, the same day another offensive tackle, Derek Simmons, will begin his OV.
Another Former Cat on the Market
Jaremiah Anglin was a four-star recruit that looked like he was destined to be a fun football player to watch in the Kentucky secondary. After rehabbing a knee injury, he was great in last year’s spring game, so great that he decided to cash in via the portal. He recorded zero stats at Pitt and now he’s back in the portal, searching for his third school in three years.
I become the Old Man Who Yells at Clouds when a good player can’t sit still in one place long enough to become a great player. Kevin Coleman has been good for three straight seasons at Jackson State, Louisville, and Mississippi State. Now the WR is looking for another school to somehow make him great. Best of luck, brother, but that’s not how this works.
COMMITMENT WATCH: Visits Start Today
Things move quickly in the transfer portal. If one takes a visit, there’s a good chance they don’t leave without pledging their allegiance to the school. Today Marshall LB Landyn Watson, USC EDGE Sam Greene, and Wake Forest WR Horatio Fields are expected to begin visits to Kentucky. We’ll be on commitment watch during their time in Lexington.
Keep your head on a swivel.
