Transfer Portal Tracker: Wildcats Find New Homes
There is not a specific transfer portal season, but some waves of transfers are bigger than others. The end of the college football season brings a bunch of new names into the portal as players search for new homes for the spring semester. The time to act is now and a couple of Wildcats have discovered their next college destination.
Former UK running back Travis Tisdale is returning to his hometown. He will transfer to Valdosta State, a Division II powerhouse that has four National Titles, most recently in 2018. A top 300 player in the class of 2019, he will play his college football games at the home of Valdosta High School. Playing for the crosstown rival, Lowndes, he rushed for a school record 413 yards and six touchdowns against the Wildcats.
Now a Valdosta State Blazer, Tisdale struggled to crack into the rotation as a change of pace back. Kavosiey Smoke filled that role, one the JuTahn McClain appears to have assumed in 2022.
Another UK transfer, Isaiah Gibson, will be taking his talents to Marshall. The defensive lineman from Springfield, Oh. chose Kentucky over Wisconsin in 2019. He totaled 10 tackles in his two years as a reserve for the Wildcats.

Another LSU Cornerback for Kentucky?
Lexington has been a popular landing spot for former LSU Tigers. That is why Kentucky fans paid attention when Dwight McGlothern entered his name into the transfer portal on Tuesday. A 6-foot-2 former top 300 prospect, the Wildcats are looking for cornerbacks in the portal. According to Matt Jones, they appear to have their sights set on a few other defensive backs.
Two Big Names in the Transfer Portal
Two former UK recruits are looking for a new home. Vince Marrow did enough work to make Kentucky a finalist for former four-star tight end Michael Trigg. The Tampa native ultimately chose to go to the west coast to play for USC. Even after Lincoln Riley made the move to Los Angeles, Trigg is looking to get closer to home, potentially joining forces with his cousin at Georgia, top-ranked edge rusher Mykel Williams.
Kentucky was also in the mix for Paul Tyson, but the Alabama legacy could not turn down the Crimson Tide. When you’re Bear Bryant’s great grandson, you can’t really choose any other school. Passed over for Bryce Young, a wise decision by Nick Saban, whoever is in need of a quality quarterback could strike it big with Tyson.
