The official trailer for the new movie American Animals just released today, depicting the dramatization of the infamous Transylvania Book Heist that took place 14 years ago.  Four students stole, and attempted to sell, John James Audubon's Birds Of America, worth nearly $12 million dollars. I was a freshman at Transylvania when this heist took place. I was in the middle of a sociology final on December 17, 2004, when I looked up and realized that fellow classmate, Spencer Reinhard, was not taking the exam. It seemed strange at the time, but obviously as things have come to light over the last 14 years, I now know he was lookout in the Clive M. Beck Center for this heist. Reinhard will be played by Barry Keoghan, most notably from the 2017 hit movie, Dunkirk. Also in the film will be Evan Peters (X-Men Apocalypse) as Warren Lipka, Blake Jenner (Everybody Wants Some) as Chas Allen, and Jared Abrahamson (Fear The Walking Dead) as Eric Borsuk. You have to turn off your brain for a bit, much like when watching Justified, that the campus appears nothing like Transy, but it still looks like a pretty solid movie.  Check out the trailer below, American Animals opens in select theaters June 1st. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKvPVvy2Kn8 [mobile_ad]
