Kentucky transfer Travis Perry will have his hands full in the coming days, hosting multiple in-home meetings while also getting visits scheduled as he looks for his next home in college basketball.

Among them? A trip to Maryland for an official visit, scheduled to begin Sunday, sources close to the recruitment tell KSR. The Terrapins, now led by former Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams, were among the first to reach out and have quickly prioritized the Eddyville, KY native as a top contributor next season in College Park.

“Pushing hard,” one source close to the Big Ten program told KSR. “We need him.”

Maryland is one of several schools with planned meetings this weekend, joining Ole Miss under coach Chris Beard, among others scheduling in-home visits beginning Friday. The Rebels have been considered the early favorite to land the 6-1 guard, potentially setting up an SEC meeting for Kentucky with the state’s all-time leading scorer in high school out of Lyon County.

Ole Miss isn’t the only conference foe making a push, either. The Rebels and Terps are joined by Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Missouri, LSU, Georgia and South Carolina, plus Louisville, Iowa and Western Kentucky, among others.

Needless to say, the high-major interest for Perry is serious.

As a freshman at Kentucky, the in-state guard averaged 2.7 points in 9.7 minutes per contest across 31 games played last, including four starts. He stepped up in key spots for the Wildcats, particularly when injuries destroyed the team’s backcourt depth with Lamont Butler, Kerr Kriisa and Jaxson Robinson going down at various points — the latter two with season-ending surgeries. Perry finished the year shooting 31.3 percent from the field, 32.1 percent from three and 80.0 percent from the line.

He signed with Kentucky rated as a consensus four-star, coming in at No. 81 overall and No. 13 among point guards in the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. His original finalists included UK, Alabama, Cincinnati, Ole Miss and Western Kentucky.

Where will he land next? It starts with the in-home meetings, followed by his first official visit scheduled to close out the weekend.
