Travis Perry is no stranger to putting up points in a hurry. He did it again this week on the national stage at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers.
The Kentucky signee led Lyon County to a Small Town Signature Series championship with wins over Lexington (S.C.) and Buckhorn (Ala.), scoring 70 total points in the two-game trip.
Perry was named Player of the Game in the title matchup, dropping 40 points on 15-22 shooting and 7-11 from three while adding ten rebounds and four assists. That came after a 30-point, eight-rebound, three-assist, two-steal effort in the opener.
Lyon County won both games by a combined 53 points.
Kentucky star freshman Reed Sheppard was a standout in the same event a year ago, named to the All-Tournament team after finishing third in scoring (22.5 PPG), third in rebounding (9.8 RPG), second in assists (6.3 APG) and first in steals (4.3 SPG) in four total games and two wins for North Laurel.

Perry is listed as the No. 87 overall prospect and No. 11 point guard in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. He committed to Kentucky back on Nov. 12, picking the Cats over Alabama, Cincinnati, Ole Miss and Western Kentucky, among others.
“Just the opportunity to go in and compete every day against the best players in the country, you know, five-star guys, future lottery picks every single day,” Perry told KSR this week. “The Kentucky name, it’s unlike any other. Getting to play for the home state and going there and hopefully being able to produce would be really fun.”
Sheppard turned a standout week in Fort Myers into a wildly productive start to his time at Kentucky. Is Perry next?
