Former Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith will be at Big Blue Madness! How do we know? He’s set to make an appearance with women’s head coach Kenny Brooks at BBN United Fan Fest.

The two coaches will have what UK is calling “a conversation” at the Central Bank Center from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. ET. This isn’t the first encounter between Smith and Brooks, but it is the first one that Big Blue Nation will get to be a part of.

Smith and Brooks share a lot of similarities when it comes to their coaching philosophies, but above all else, both are winners. Of course, Smith had to replace Rick Pitino who had just jumped ship to the Boston Celtics, and in his first year at the helm in 1998, he coached the Cats all the way to the seventh NCAA Championship in program history.

While Brooks didn’t win the national title in year one, he far exceeded what anyone expected him to do, just like Smith. A year ago, Kentucky went 23-8, finishing fourth in the SEC and got to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. That’s a pretty crazy turnaround given where the program was when he got here.

If you’ve ever wanted to just sit and listen to two coaching masterminds spitball back and forth, now’s the time.
