I assume you all woke up with a huge smile on your faces after watching that game last night. I know I sure did. The Cats are so good this year and so ahead of the normal timeline of progression for such a young team. They are bludgeoning every opponent in their path and setting new high marks along the way. For instance, last night's game was a third straight 100-pointer for the first time since 1977, and Kentucky has won all seven games this season by at least 21 points, the first time that has happened since the 1947-48. Oh, there was a triple-double, too. Not a bad night, huh?   1. Mr. Triple-Double was happiest with his shooting efficiency. De'Aaron Fox became only the second player in school history to record a triple-double, but writing his name in the history books took a backseat to the way he shot the ball, at least in his own eyes. Fox, who has struggled with his shot so far this season, said of the triple-double, "It felt good; but honestly, it was my most efficient game shooting-wise, so that's what I feel good about." The freshman point guard also admitted to not knowing anything about Kentucky's history with triple-doubles, or lack thereof. "I didn't even know that's how long it's been," he said. He then later admitted to not knowing who Chris Mills is, not that he should know. "That was nine years before I was born.” 2. How did Malik Monk make this one-handed catch and pass? monk-pass "SportsCenter just popped into my head," said Bobby Hurley, head coach of Arizona State. SportsCenter indeed. 3. Isaiah Briscoe picked up right where he left off. After missing two games with a minor injury, Isaiah Briscoe returned to action in the Bahamas with more outstanding basketball. Kentucky's star sophomore had 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with seven assists, four rebounds and three steals. De'Aaron Fox got all of the attention for his triple-double, but Briscoe is also filling up box scores this year and will continue to do it consistently. He's just a do-it-all player and still the best layup shooter in the game. "Isaiah Briscoe is just a beast," said Calipari. 4. This young team is playing so unselfish, which is not normal. The Cats assisted on 75 percent of their buckets last night with 33 assists on 44 made baskets. It set a new high for assists in the John Calipari era. May I remind you: this is a November team that started four freshmen. 5. Brad Calipari got his shot back. Yes, Kentucky is so good we are talking about whether or not Brad Calipari's shot is falling. That's how much fun we're having right now. 6. Did ESPN tell Dan Dakich to play nice, or is Kentucky that good? Famed Kentucky hater Dak Dakich sounded like a homer on the broadcast last night as he raved about John Calipari's new team. Dakich's constant praise of the Cats made me wonder if ESPN warned him ahead of time or if he is as mesmerized by the team as he sounded. We give Dakich a hard time, and it's often deserved, but when he calls a game without trying to be a troll, he is as good as it gets. Last night he was at his best, plus he was very complimentary of the Cats. 7. Our contest winners had a good time. contest-winners Special shout-out to the Culps, our winners of the radio giveaway to the Bahamas. They said they had a blast watching the Cats in Atlantis last night. 8. Watch us talk Governor's Cup upset on last night's Hey Kentucky. You can see the full episode of last night's Hey Kentucky here. 9. There's a big-time giveaway at this morning's show in Elizabethtown. You're going to want to make it out to KSR's live remote at Sleep Outfitters in Elizabethtown today. Matt and Ryan will be broadcasting live at 1617 N Dixie Highway and giving away tickets (with hospitality passes!) to UK-UCLA. Get out there! 10. Thoughts and prayers for Gatlinburg. I hate to end with a piece of sad news, but we need to acknowledge the horrifying scene in Gatlinburg, where forest fires are destroying everything. This video of some people trying to escape their neighborhood in the mountains is absolutely terrifying. I can't imagine being in their situation, and it is happening all of the area.
