Tweak! Calipari says, "Maybe I tweak the offense a little bit"

Eight years have passed since John Calipari made the infamous “tweak” that changed the way Andrew Harrison captained Kentucky’s offense, and in turn, changed the course of the 2013-14 season. In February of that year, Calipari’s team of star freshmen were struggling late in their only season together until Calipari told Harrison to stop shooting and start passing. Weeks later, Kentucky played for a national championship as an 8-seed.
Now with a completely different team, one with experience but injury concerns, Calipari could be channeling the tweak magic again. On Friday, he shot down a question about the team peaking too early and included two tweaks in his explanation of what may be ahead behind the scenes.
“It’s not peaking too early; it’s OK, do we have to do this a little bit different to get us moving?,” Calipari replied. “We practice and maybe I tweak some things in practice, maybe I tweak the offense a little bit, but I still have one of those teams and I say it: We got one of those teams. Let’s go. Let’s get to the end and see what happens.”

If TyTy Washington is going to be out much longer, Calipari will certainly have to tweak the offense because it has shown it can’t succeed in its current form when Washington is unavailable. One tweak that should be high on Calipari’s tweak list is get Kellan Grady open 3-pointers,, especially after his disappearance in Knoxville earlier this week.
As for how long Washington could be out, Calipari wouldn’t say much but he did admit two or three players could be absent tomorrow at Alabama.
The, “We got one of those teams,” comment is pretty awesome though.
