Two former Kentucky players make top-selling NBA jerseys list
On the heels of unveiling the third batch of 2023 All-Star voting numbers, the NBA released the top 15 best-selling player jerseys for this season, and two former Kentucky players made the list.
Coming in at #8 is Phoenix Suns poster boy, Devin Booker. For the longest time, Book did not get the respect he deserved, but slowly the basketball world is coming around, thanks in part to the Suns’ recent success on the hardwood.
Dating Kendall Jenner helped boost his notoriety as well.
Unfortunately, Book suffered a hamstring injury that will keep in out at least through January, putting his All-Star status and the Suns’ playoff hopes in jeopardy.
While All-Star voting is more of a popularity contest than an actual assessment of which players are having the best season, jersey sales are the king of popularity contests because it requires fans to put their money where their mouse clicks are. And Devin Booker is the most popular former Kentucky player in the NBA at the moment.

Anthony Davis is the only other former ‘Cat to make the top-selling jersey list, coming in at #13. Being a generational talent on the world’s most popular basketball team automatically holds a spot for him, but Davis would rank much higher if not for a string of unfortunate injuries over the last few years.
Davis is currently out indefinitely with a stress injury to his foot, but fans are still repping the #3 Lakers jersey in the stands.
While we don’t have stats for anyone beyond #15, I would bet a signed Booker jersey that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is climbing quickly up the sales ladder. SGA is the next former Kentucky player on a trajectory for NBA superstardom and fans everywhere will increasingly want his hyphenated surname circumnavigating their backs.
Go ‘Cats.
