Is Hunter Dickinson a Cat? That news is expected to drop at some point today — the Michigan center’s podcast cohost, Marty Mush of Barstool, says they are recording a show together and hinted a commitment will take place then.

“What school do you think Hunter is going to?” he said.

Dickinson has gone out of his way to keep things close to vest, leaving just about everyone in the dark on his recruitment and where he’s leaning. Mush is taking great humor in being one of the few people that know, well, anything.

“Hunter has put every (college basketball) insider into a tizzy about where he’s going,” Mush said of Dickinson’s recruitment. “The man is doing what’s best for him and not letting any of these reporters in on his career decisions, only people he trusts. It’s also killing people that I might know some info and it’s beautiful.”

That’s not stopping the rumors and rumblings from flowing, including on Kentucky Sports Radio this morning when Matt Jones dropped a bomb regarding some behind-the-scenes chatter from national sources. And it’s good potentially good news for Kentucky.

“Yesterday after the show, within about 20 minutes, I got two text messages from guys that you all would know,” Jones said. “National college basketball people, one of which is not even totally college basketball, saying they hear Hunter Dickinson to Kentucky is done. And I have not heard that myself but that seemed like good news.”

That comes after Jones was told ten days ago that a decision would come for the 7-foot-1 center today, with Kentucky being the likely landing spot.

Shortly after, a caller said he had Dickinson scoop of his own. In a side conversation with Shannon The Dude, he said he had a friend in Lubbock, Texas whose son plays for Texas Tech and is friends with Dickinson.

“He said that Hunter Dickinson is a done deal going to Kansas,” Shannon relayed on the air.

So there are two national insiders saying Dickinson to Kentucky, a friend of a friend saying Kansas, Maryland insiders saying it’s the Terrapins. Certainly there are Villanova folks out there that believe it’s them, too. Maybe Georgetown? Might as well throw in a return to Michigan while we’re at it.

Clear as mud.
