Tyler Herro Hits a Game-Winner for the Miami Heat
Tyler Herro is not afraid of a big moment. Some might say the Florida rivalry between Miami and Orlando is one of the most unsung rivalries in professional sports. That might be a stretch, but it’s not a stretch to say that Tyler Herro is still a bucket.
When the Miami Heat needed a hero late against the Magic, the former Kentucky Wildcat delivered.
In an important game between the sixth-place Heat and fourth-place Magic, Herro saved his best for last. He made a bucket to give Miami a five-point lead with two minutes to play. The road team let that lead slip away. They trailed with 4.2 seconds on the clock when Bam Adebayo hit Herro for the 19-foot, game-winning jump shot.
Herro was 8-17 from the floor and 3-6 from three-point land to score a team-high 20 points. His other former Kentucky teammate struggled offensively. Adebayo had only four points, but grabbed nine boards, blocked five shots, and dished out six assists in the 89-88 win.

Jimmy Butler is looking for an out via trade and that’s giving Herro an opportunity to shine. The former Kentucky Wildcat is averaging a career-best 23.9 points per game. He’s shooting 47.1% from the field and 40.3% from three, which are also career-highs.
In his sixth season, Tyler Herro is playing his best basketball. Ya love to see it.
