It’s do-or-die time for the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, and in turn, a former Kentucky Wildcat may finally return to the court. Miami guard Tyler Herro has been upgraded to questionable for tonight’s Game 5 vs. the Denver Nuggets. Further, Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Herro is expected to suit up and play barring any setbacks. Denver leads the series 3-1 and could clinch the title tonight at home in Ball Arena. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Herro has not played since April 16 when he suffered a broken shooting hand in Game 1 of Miami’s first-round matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. He underwent surgery less than a week later on April 21 and has been working towards a return since. Initial reports suggested that Herro would be available for Game 3 last Wednesday, but he remained out for it and Game 4 on Friday.

Wojnarowski reports that Herro still has discomfort in his right hand but hopes to manage it and play tonight. Yesterday, he was spotted getting shots up at practice:

Facing elimination, Miami could use Herro, even in a limited role. This season, he averaged 20.1 points per game on 43.9% shooting, 37.8% from three-point range, along with 5.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. If the Heat pull off a win tonight, the series will return to Miami for Game 6 on Thursday.
