Tyler Herro was on fire at Pacers' Pre-Draft Workout

Tyler Herro's nationwide pre-NBA Draft tour has opened the eyes of executives around the league. Friday's workout with the Indiana Pacers was no exception. Performing in front of front office personnel and head coach Nate McMillan, Herro quickly found his rhythm. The Indy Star's Akeem Glaspie was there to witness Herro's impressive run.

His mechanics were pure as he ran through a catch-and-shoot drill near the end of the workout. No wasted movement or hitches, releasing the ball at the top of his jump just above his face with a quick flick of his wrist.

After missing his first two shots from the right baseline, Herro caught fire, making five consecutive shots.

"Way to shoot it," yelled fellow workout player JaKeenan Gant of Louisiana. But Herro was just getting started.

Herro moved over to the right wing and drained four more shots in a row. He didn't miss until reaching the top of the arc, but the impressive display showed why the 19-year-old will be in the New York City greenroom for the draft Thursday.

Herro has a few boxes he wants to check in each workout. "Obviously, that I can shoot it. I think being able to play in the pick-and-roll, play-make and showing that I can defend at the next level." The former Wildcat probably performed too well for the Pacers. Indianapolis' first pick is at No. 18. Few believe he'll fall that far Thursday night at the Barclays Center. Herro worked out with the Magic earlier this week. He'll conclude his workout tour this afternoon in Minnesota. He was not the only former Wildcat in action Friday. P.J. Washington was in Atlanta, conducting interviews with the Hawks' organization. Atlanta holds the eighth and tenth pick in this year's NBA Draft.
