Tyler Herro won the NBA 3-Point Contest as a first-time participant

Tyler Herro shined on NBA All-Star Saturday night, winning the 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Just his second appearance in the event, Herro was crowned the NBA’s 3-point champion with rounds of 19 and 24 points to edge out Darius Garland, Damian Lillard, Buddy Hield, Norman Powell, Jalen Brunson, Cam Johnson and Cade Cunningham.

“I got lucky,” the former Wildcat said in his acceptance speech. “I thought Buddy was going to run off the last five there. Buddy’s a great shooter.”
With the win, Herro became the fifth Miami Heat player to win the 3-point contest, joining Glen Rice (1995), Jason Kapono (2006), Daequan Cook (2009), and James Jones (2011). He entered the contest with +700 odds.
Herro will play in his first NBA All-Star Game on Sunday.
