Tyler Ulis just got one step closer to becoming a consensus All-American. This morning, Ulis was named Second Team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, his third such honor. Ulis has now been named an All-American by the Sporting News (first team), the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (second team) and the NABC (second team). The Associated Press, the fourth NCAA-recognized All-America team, has not been released yet and will determine if Ulis is a consensus All-American. Here's the entire ballot: First Team Malcolm Brogdon, Virginia Buddy Hield, Oklahoma Brice Johnson, North Carolina Ben Simmons, LSU Denzel Valentine, Michigan State Second Team Kris Dunn, Providence Perry Ellis, Kansas Georges Niang, Iowa State Jakob Poeltl, Utah Tyler Ulis, Kentucky Third Team Grayson Allen, Duke Kay Felder, Oakland Yogi Ferrell, Indiana Josh Hart, Villanova Jarrod Uthoff, Iowa The fact that Ben Simmons made the first team and Ulis didn't is pretty annoying, but congrats to Tyler. As one of four finalists for the Naismith Trophy, he'll be in Houston later this week for the award presentation.
