This Tyran Stokes in-game dunk is one of the best you'll ever see

Over the holiday weekend, Kentucky men’s basketball target Tyran Stokes solidified his status as the best high school junior in the country. His spin-move dunk over a defender in transition is a perfect example why.
Suiting up in Kansas City on the Nike EYBL circuit, Stokes has been incredible for the Oakland Soldiers in his three games of action. The 6-foot-7 wing scored 28 points on Friday, 22 on Saturday, and 30 more on Sunday. But it was what the Louisville native did to close out the weekend that still has the basketball community buzzing.
Watch below as Stokes confuses the opposition with an in-and-out move into a behind-the-back crossover before spinning back to his right and throwing down a monster slam on one unlucky Team Durant defender. It’s a move you’re more likely to see in a video game than in person.
Goodness…
That dunk on Sunday made up just two of his 30 points against Team Durant, which rosters 2027 wing Baba Oladotun, who is ranked No. 2 overall in his class by the On3 Industry Ranking. Along with his high-scoring performance, Stokes also added 18 rebounds, five assists, and four steals in the 78-68 comeback win. He shot 10-18 from the field for good measure.

Stokes, originally expected to sit out this year’s EYBL schedule, has now played in seven games this month for the Oakland Soldiers. After a slow start by his standards, his play went to another level over the last few days in Kansas City. Below are his game logs so far on the AAU circuit. He’s set to finish out this weekend’s session against Team Herro on Monday.
- May 16 (64-54 L vs. NY Rens): 15 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals | 6-12 FG
- May 17 (90-56 W vs. Meanstreets): 14 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists | 5-9 FG
- May 17 (87-79 L vs. Team Takeover): 27 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals | 10-25 FG
- May 18 (75-74 W vs. JL3): 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists | 3-12 FG
- May 23 (74-67 W vs. Jet Academy): 28 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks | 11-24 FG
- May 24 (68-54 W vs. PSA Cardinals): 22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists | 6-12 FG
- May 25 (78-68 W vs. Team Durant): 30 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals | 10-18 FG
Per-game averages (7): 21.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.3 steals | 45.5 FG%, 26.3 3PT%, 71.9 FT%
It’s easy to see why Stokes is a top recruiting priority for Kentucky and head coach Mark Pope. The UK coaches were scheduled to host him for an official visit earlier this month, but his return to the EYBL circuit has pushed that back. The likes of Louisville, Kansas, Arkansas, and others are also heavily in the mix for the future star.
