TyTy Washington and Skal Labissiere will participate in NBA All-Star Weekend
Former Kentucky first-round picks, TyTy Washington and Skal Labiessiere (remember him?) might not see an NBA court very often, but that won’t stop them from participating in All-Star Weekend. Washington and Labissiere will play in the G-League Next Up Game on Sunday, February 16th at 3:30 p.m. This will serve as the warmup act before the main event, the actual All-Star game, immediately following.
Labissiere, a G League veteran, is averaging 13.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game for the Stockton Kings and although he has not seen any action with Sacramento’s primary roster, he did sit with them on the bench the first game of the season.
Meanwhile, Washington is averaging 20.3 points, 5.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per contest with the Valley Suns. Unlike Skal, TyTy has played in three games for Phoenix this season and has eight total points at the NBA level this season.
Both Labissiere and Washington were projected lottery picks while at Kentucky, but ultimately saw their status fall to the end of the first round on draft night.

They will join fellow Kentucky alumni Reed Sheppard and Cason Wallace, who will take part in the NBA Rising Stars game, as part of the All-Star Weekend festivities outside of the actual All-Star game. Good luck to the former ‘Cats on one of the biggest stages in basketball.
