WATCH: The moment TyTy Washington was selected by the Houston Rockets
One more for Kentucky, TyTy Washington was picked at No. 29 by the Houston Rockets (via Memphis). The former Wildcat was projected as high as the lottery prior to his midseason injury, but fell to late in the first round where Houston was happy to add him to a draft class that includes two more SEC stars in Auburn’s Jabari Smith and LSU’s Tari Eason.
Watch the moment Washington heard his name called on draft night below. You’ll see John Calipari wasn’t nearby to congratulate him, but Jai Lucas, now a Duke assistant, was part of the group celebrating with Washington in the green room.
