TyTy Washington is remaining busy with NBA workouts
On Saturday, the Washington Wizards hosted Kentucky guard TyTy Washington Jr. for a pre-draft visit and workout. However, this isn’t the only franchise interested in the former top-20 prospect.
TyTy Washington has completed visits with four franchises — Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Washington Wizards — with a pair of visits upcoming. Washington tells the media in D.C. that the prospect will also meet with the New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs.
During the Saturday workout along with Dyson Daniels, Washington suffered a right knee bone bruise and had to pull out. This adds to the injury issues the combo guard had to end the year with Kentucky.
Regardless, TyTy Washington is still seen as a valuable prospect and could see his name go off the board as a lottery pick. The 2022 NBA Draft will take place on Thursday, June 23.
TyTy Washington and John Wall connection
In a 92-77 victory over Tom Crean’s Georgia squad on Jan. 8, TyTy Washington was able to put his name in the Kentucky record books. In 37 minutes, Washington went for 17 points and set a school record for 17 assists. That broke a mark that John Wall set during the 2009-10 season.

After his visit with the Wizards, Washington confirmed that he grew up idolizing Wall and that breaking that record was pretty cool for him.
Wall, of course, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. The 6-foot-3 point guard would spend 10 seasons with the Eastern Conference franchise earning five All-Star selections and an All-NBA Third Team selection in 2017.
Injuries, unfortunately, stunted the point guard’s development as the 31-year-old is now with the Houston Rockets. Perhaps the Wizards want to dip into the Kentucky pipeline again and bring in a one-and-done point guard from Lexington just a decade later.
