On Saturday night, Mark Pope and his staff surprised Silas Demary Jr. with a visit and scholarship offer. Now, it looks like the Georgia transfer combo guard will take his talents to a different college basketball powerhouse.

UConn is trending for Demary, who took official visits to Storrs (April 1) and St. John’s (March 31) after hosting Pope and staff. Both Joe Tipton and Travis Branham have logged predictions for UConn to land the talented guard, who spent his first two seasons playing for Mike White at Georgia. Demary averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game in 33 games this past season. The former top 100 high school recruit shot 39.6% from the floor and 37.4% from three, averaging 1.8 made threes per game on 4.7 attempts.

Where does Kentucky go from here? According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Jacksonville State guard Jaron Pierre plans to meet with Kentucky “in the near future.” The New Orleans native started his college career at Southern Miss and transferred to Wichita State in 2022. After one season with the Shockers, he made the move to Jacksonville State, where he scored more points than any player in college basketball (777) during the 2024-25 season.

Pierre averaged 21.6 points per game, shooting 42.4% from the field and 38.2% from beyond the arc, connecting on an average of 2.9 threes per game on 7.6 attempts. He topped the 30-point mark six times this season and was named Conference USA Player of the Year. Pierre is also declaring for the NBA Draft while exploring his portal options. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Per Rothstein, Pierre visited SMU yesterday and also plans to meet with Ole Miss. The recruiting dead period started today and runs through April 11, meaning coaches cannot have in-person contact or host prospects on visits for the next week. Coincidentally, Mark Pope and Alvin Brooks were spotted in the Dallas airport on Wednesday. Did a meeting with Pierre take place?
