Ugonna Onyenso hurts ankle in closed scrimmage
Kentucky could be down yet another scholarship big ahead of the 2023 GLOBL JAM in Toronto.
With Aaron Bradshaw already missing the event after undergoing foot surgery, Ugonna Onyenso — the only true center on the roster — is now hurt, going down with an ankle injury in a closed scrimmage on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-11 sophomore had to be helped off the floor following the incident. No word from UK Athletics regarding the severity or his availability the rest of the week.

The closed scrimmage against a professional team from Africa — a blowout win for Kentucky, mind you — was a tune-up for the Wildcats’ matchup vs. Team Germany on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. ET broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
Should the Wildcats be without Onyenso this week, John Calipari will have no choice but to go small, with DJ Wagner, Rob Dillingham, Antonio Reeves, Justin Edwards, Tre Mitchell, Adou Thiero, Reed Sheppard, Jordan Burks and Joey Hart remaining as available scholarship pieces.
