Screen Shot 2014-03-11 at 9.15.51 PM Charlie Healy | UK Athletics  After a successful weekend against Ball State, one in which the 'Cats outscored the opponent 50-4 in the last two games, UK returned to action Tuesday. UK was originally scheduled to take on Indiana in Bloomington, the first game in Indiana for Kentucky since the 2012 season ended in Gary, Indiana, and NKU at home. While the game in Bloomington went on as planned, Wednesday's match-up against instate "rival" NKU was canceled due to bad weather in Lexington. As of right now, it's uncertain as to whether the game will be rescheduled in the future. With that being said, on to a recap of this week's games... March 11, vs. #16 Indiana Result: UK 2- IU 7 Starting Pitchers: UK- Dylan Dwyer | IU- Kyle Hart I usually like to subscribe to the idea that Indiana is terrible at everything imaginable, but it's hard to deny that the Hoosiers have an impressive squad this year. The first weekday match-up for the 'Cats went about as well as Tom Crean trying to use Twitter, with Indiana handing UK a 7-2 loss in Bloomington. IU struck early, plating two runs in the B1st off of an RBI-Double from Rodrigue and a RBI-groundout from Donley. Kuhn would belt his 2nd homerun in the T4th, a solo-shot that would cut the lead to 2-1, but the Hoosiers would answer in the bottom of the same inning with 2 runs of its own. UK would get another run in the T5th off of a Cousino RBI-Double, but IU would again respond in the bottom half of the inning with a run of its own, giving the Hoosiers a 5-2 lead after five innings played. The scoreboard would stay the same until the B8th when Indiana would plate 2 more runs, ending Dylan Dwyer's day (7.1 IP, 6 ER, 5 H, 9 SO), giving the Sophomore from Murray his first career loss at UK. The Wildcats would stay quiet for the rest of the game, with Indiana claiming its first win in four meetings against the 'Cats. Also noteworthy, neither Kyle Barrett nor AJ Reed had hits, snapping their 18 game hitting streak which was the longest since Caleb Stewart in 2004. The loss gives UK a record of 13-4 for the 2014 campaign so far.
