UK Fans of the Day Want Friday Night Kentucky Football Recruiting Notes
It’s been a rather eventful news day for the Big Blue Nation thanks to Aaron Bradshaw and a rare press conference from Mitch Barnhart. Not far from where the UK director of athletics spoke, Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football coaches were preparing for a weekend of official visitors. Here’s the latest before the Wildcats potentially reel in a few commitments for the 2024 recruiting class.
Kentucky Trending for Jadon Lafontant
Three-star interior offensive lineman Jadon Lafontant just wrapped up a mid-week official visit to the University of Kentucky. There’s some serious buzz in favor of the Wildcats following the trip to Lexington, so much so that I’ve placed an RPM pick for Kentucky to secure a commitment from the imposing offensive lineman from Connecticut. His offer sheet isn’t filled with big names from across the college football landscape, but his tape and measurables check all of the boxes.
Another name to watch: it sounds like running back Jason Patterson thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Kentucky. Officially visiting Cincinnati this weekend, a decision could come shortly after spending time with Scott Satterfield.
Vaboue Toure Commits to Penn State
Not every mid-week official visitor left with glowing reviews of Lexington. As soon as Vaboue Toure returned home to New Jersey, he announced his commitment to Penn State. Kentucky has successfully recruited Irvington High School before, securing a commitment from Nasir Addison in the last cycle, but competing against Penn State in this area is a tall task. It’s their home turf and it sounds like they had already locked up the four-star safety before he checked out Lexington in-person.

Kentucky is a Finalist for Dominic Kirks
The Wildcats are in contention for four-star defensive end Dominic Kirks. The Cleveland native is also considering Nebraska, Wisconsin, Washington and Pitt. In a conversation with Chad Simmons, he had this to say about the Cats:
“Coach (Vince) Marrow really reaches out a lot. I’m starting to build a relationship with the defensive line coach (Anwar Stewart) and my head coach, he knows their coaches a lot. He trusts them a lot, so his word matters to me and I really trust I can build a great relationship with them. I’ve already been down there. It’s SEC football, that’s the best football in my opinion. You wouldn’t want to miss out on SEC football because of the development and they get players drafted.”
He still is probably going to miss out on SEC football. Kirks canceled an official visit to Kentucky after taking a trip to Pitt, the leader in his recruitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
