“BLUE!… WHITE!… BLUE!… WHITE!”

Is anyone else still singing nearly 24 hours after Kentucky fans sounded like the Louisville Chorus belting our favorite chants throughout the Yum Center in downtown Louisville yesterday?

“GO-BIG-BLUE! GO-BIG-BLUE!

I watched a replay of the game early this morning, as people do, and BBN sounded so clear and uninterrupted (despite efforts from the in-house DJ) behind enemy lines. I encourage you to watch a replay of the game, too, when you get a chance. I may run it back tonight after Christmas Vacation.

In the meantime, let’s run back another round of UK Fans of the Day Wanting Afternoon Notes:

YOUR PHOTO HERE. To be a UK Fan of the Day, submit a photo to KSR headquarters by tagging KSR_IG on Instagram or KSRonX on Twitter X. We’ll use the best submissions as photos for future editions of the Afternoon Notes.

— The biggest news of the day is Kenny Payne keeping his job at Louisville, per John Calipari’s late-night request. Calipari urged UofL in his postgame press conference to allow Payne the time to “do what he does.” Today, UofL announced Payne will remain in place through the new year. Some fans aren’t happy, but that’s a them problem now. We had our fun last night.

— Speaking of fun, let’s watch that Rob Dillingham dunk again, but in funny TikTok form.

For more from last night’s win, KSR’s own Steven Peake has the Sights and Sounds from the KFC! Yum Center.

— Before the fun inside, the KSR Pregame Show in Louisville was one of the most fun we’ve ever done. It felt like a show before an NCAA Tournament game as the Big Blue Nation crowded Country Boy Brewing’s new location at the Omni Louisville before Kentucky played the Cards down the street. Even Vince Marrow stopped by on his way to the game to join the show for a segment. If you missed it, it’s worth listening to the podcast for Marrow’s comments alone. You can find the podcast here:

Next week, you can hear new KSR episodes on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (although Friday’s will be a pregame show for the bowl). The show is off Monday and Tuesday for the holiday.

— A reminder: You can watch Jasper Johnson (2025) vs. VJ Edgecomb (2024) tonight at 9 p.m. on ESPNU and WatchESPN. The two UK targets and their respective teams will meet in tonight’s semifinal of the GEICO Holiday Hoops at the City of Palms Classic. Johnson, from Lexington, KY, plays his junior year of ball for Link Academy (MO). Edgecombe suits up for Long Island Lutheran (NY). Edgecombe is a five-star talent in the class of 2024.

You can watch their game online here through your ESPN or cable account.

Other things on TV tonight: UCF and Georgia Tech kick off in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl here soon at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN. When that’s done, Mizzou and Illinois will play their annual “Braggin’ Rights” basketball rivalry game at 9 p.m. on FS1. Last year, Mizzou stomped No. 16 Illinois by 22 points before the Tigers routed Kentucky a few days later. Kobe Brown scored 31 and 30 in that two-game span. He’s an L.A. Clipper now.

— Looking ahead to Sunday’s NFL fun, today, Mike Vrabel listed Will Levis as questionable for the Christmas Eve game in Nashville against the Seahawks. Levis, who the Texans tried to rip in half last Sunday, stretched with his Titans teammates at Friday’s practice. The former UK QB was back in a practice uniform for the first time this week.

TWEET OF THE DAY:

Thanks for the laugh, Cody.

— I’ll leave you with this Kentucky flag flying in the KFC Yum! Center last night:
