Hello, friends. How was your Monday with the kids home from school? Probably pretty busy, especially on a rainy day. You can only keep them outside so long before one of the neighbors call CPS. While you’re juggling all of the things one must juggle at a time like this, here are a few noteworthy nuggets from the world of Kentucky football and basketball recruiting.

Ian Jackson Commits to North Carolina

That stunk. I don’t need to tell you all about that. Jack Pilgrim has you covered on what’s next in the 2024 recruiting class. Between you and I, it does not take a whole lot of wind out of my sails. Sure, you should always be onto what’s next, but the here and now this year, and the mega-class the following year, are top priority. So much can change over the next two seasons that I’m not going to sounds the alarms after one miss.

Travis Perry Adds Indiana Offer

While Travis Perry pursues the state of Kentucky’s high school scoring title (a little more than 600 away from catching King Kelly Coleman), the folks in the Hoosier state have become more and more interested in the Lyon County sharpshooter. Indiana recently offered Perry a scholarship, joining the ranks of Ole Miss, Purdue, Iowa, a few other Big Ten schools and the University of Kentucky. Indiana’s interest makes sense. He plays AAU with Indiana Elite and has a top-ranked teammate in Flory Bidunga. Ranked as the No. 87 player overall in the On3 Consensus, we’ll continue to closely monitor the talented 2024 prospect.

Demetrius Bell to Officially Visit Nebraska

Remember Demitrius Bell? We have not talked about the wide receiver from Nashville in a long time. His recruitment got quiet as the Wildcats’ narrowed their crosshairs around signing day. December came and went, Bell never made a final decision. While there’s still room for him on the UK roster, other schools might consider him a greater need. That’s where Nebraska enters the fold. HuskersOnline reports the four-star wide receiver will officially visit Lincoln this weekend.

Undecided 2023 Kentucky Football Recruiting Targets

Over the summer I predicted Kendrick Gilbert to end up at Kentucky. He ultimately picked Purdue. The Indianapolis kid hasn’t said much since that coaching staff left West Lafayette for Louisville. While the circumstances are ideal for UK’s coaches to swoop in for a late flip, the four-star defensive lineman feels like a kid who would rather just stay in the state of Indiana.

The Wildcats could add another player in the trenches on National Signing Day in February. Nobody has recruited IOL Woo Spencer more consistently than Kentucky. However, Jeff Brohm’s move to Louisville makes them a significant threat. This feels like a 50-50 toss-up between the two in-state programs.
