As you may have heard, John Calipari is in Egypt for the FIBA World Cup, so his better half stepped in to help out at the Father/Son Camps at UK this weekend. Check out this great picture of Ellen and a young camper, who surely complimented her on her appearance on Friday’s show. If you haven’t yet, be sure to go back and listen to Ellen and Erin’s interview, along with Chantel Stoops’. As Kentucky fans, we’re incredibly lucky to have such great first ladies.

Now, some notes before I go celebrate the Thirth, the real holiday in my neighborhood…

Go one step further and scout the competition with Richmond’s preview from earlier today:

Kanye West and 2 Chainz hung with UCLA today

The picture of the day on Twitter has to be Kanye West and 2 Chainz with the UCLA basketball team, including the latest Ball to be a Bruin, LiAngelo. Apparently the two rappers were playing with some friends in the Wooden Center when the UCLA team came in for their workout, so they didn’t exactly practice together, but still. Kanye and 2 Chainz or Drake? You decide.

What’s going on down at Western Kentucky?

This morning, Evan Daniels reported that former UNC star Shammond Williams resigned from his assistant coaching position:

Why is this interesting? Williams is the godfather of Western’s star freshman Mitchell Robinson, and obviously played a very big role in recruiting him to Western. Something to keep an eye on…

So, you know, if you see him in Rome, holler at him. Then go eat some cacio e pepe because it’s one of the best dishes ever created.

How is Kentucky still losing this poll?
