UK Hoops Overcomes 14 Point Deficit...Defeat Cardinals

by:KSRCollege.com12/02/12

In one of the craziest, most insane college basketball games I have ever witnessed first hand, the 9th ranked Kentucky women's basketball team defeated 7th ranked Louisville 48-47. It was an ugly game on offense, as neither team had any rhythm the entire game, but after UK was down 14, they stormed back to defeat the Cardinals on the road. Freshman Janee Thompson finished with 13 points, and had 3 clutch free throws to cut the lead to 1 when the Cats were down by 4 with a minute left, and with 1 second left on the shot clock nailed a 3-pointer to put UK up by one. The Cards had a chance to win with 8 seconds left, but Azia Bishop soared in the air to block a shot and end the game...Anthony Davis anyone? The atmosphere at the Yum! Center today was unmatched, with over 15,000 people in attendance. The Cats are now 6-1 on the season, and will certainly have mountains of momentum as they head into a Rupp Arena matchup against Depaul on Friday.
