UK's Devin Leary named a preseason NFL Draft sleeper by ESPN
Kentucky’s new quarterback, Devin Leary, has a lot of potential in Liam Coen’s offense this fall. With future pros at wide receiver and a crowded tight end room, the weapons are around the NC State transfer to do something special. It is up to him to do it (and the offensive line to keep him alive).
The World Wide Leader sees that potential, too. In a new post for ESPN+, NFL draft analyst Matt Miller named Leary one of his 2024 NFL Draft sleepers, based on conversations with actual NFL scouts and execs.
One AFC scout told Miller, “There’s no substitute for experience at quarterback in college, and Leary has a ton of it. He’s built right mentally for that quick-strike offense, and I think we’ll see more mobility from him now.”
Another scout said, “The last time he was healthy for a full season he was torching people,” adding that Leary could outperform Will Levis’ 2022 season in the Wildcats’ offense.

Devin Leary to participate in the Manning Passing Academy
Before his senior season begins, Leary is going to work at the Manning Passing Academy. He is one of 45 college quarterbacks invited to be a counselor at this year’s camp, scheduled for June 22-25 at Nichols State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
Past Manning Passing Academy campers include Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, and, last year, Will Levis.
Peyton and Eli Manning will also be in attendance to help out with their dad’s summer camp.
