Armando Bacot was the leading scorer and rebounder for the national runner-up last season and he will return to college basketball next year to challenge Oscar Tshiebwe for the Player of the Year award in 2022-23. Between his junior and senior seasons at North Carolina, Bacot has gotten into acting with a role on the new season of Outer Banks.

One of the most popular shows in Netflix’s catalog, Outer Banks is set in Outer Banks, North Carolina, and is currently filming its third season in Charleston, South Carolina. Bacot was on set Wednesday morning, according to his Instagram stories, as part of his new offseason gig away from basketball.

Season 3 of Outer Banks is rumored for a December 2022 release. If you saw the first season, you’re probably wondering if Bacot took the imaginary ferry from landlocked Chapel Hill, a major geographical inaccuracy in the early episodes.

A unique NIL opportunity for Bacot, it likely helped that the show’s co-creators are UNC alums. Shannon Burke and Josh Pate have said the series that reached No. 1 in the Neilsen ratings may not exist if not for their bonding over the Tar Heels’ 2017 national championship.
